My favorite book read in January is Cathy Pegau's Caught in Amber. This is truly one of the best sci-fi romances I've read in years. When the mantra, "this book is so good" keeps running through my head as I read, I know it's a winner. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up! Click here to read my review.
Mho's good author friend, Penny Watson has written and published a children's book under the name, Nina Clark and with illustrator Sara Puliver. Say hello to Lucy the Wonder Weenie! How can you not want to read about an adorable doxie who becomes a super weenie dog with special powers? Also the illustrations are wonderful!
Synopsis: What happens when an ordinary weenie dog consumes a pile of magic beans?
She turns into a super hero.

Mho wishes he could look as good in suspenders like this man chesty fireman model. This is the third book in Jennifer Bernard's The Bachelor Fireman of San Gabriel series. Mho one day will ride on a firetruck and swing his big water hose round for all his pretty ladies.
Mho only wishes he had colorful leg warmers like the one on this cover. This is Diane Kelly's fifth book in her Death and Taxes series that will be released in June from St. Martin's.
Synopsis: It’s bad enough that
Tara has to go on trial against the mortgage-frauding “Tennis
Racketeers” who cheated banks and homeowners out of millions in between
doubles matches. Now she has to go undercover—in a strip club—to strip
the sleazeball owner of his indeed illegal livelihood. At least she’s
working as a bookkeeper, not a pole dancer. And who needs tips when her
undercover crush, Special Agent Nick, is the club’s bodyguard?
With so many hot bodies on display, Tara agrees to join her boss, Lu “the Lobo” Lobozinski, in her daily workouts at the Y. Lu’s on a health kick after recovering from cancer, and she’s pulled her leotards, tights, and hot-pink leg warmers out of mothballs. Which is okay with Tara. If she hopes to put Mr. Geils behind bars, grab the tennis boys by the balls, and lock lips with the unsuspecting Nick, she needs to be in the best shape of her life…
