Hi Everyone!
Thanks for having me on today. You
asked me to talk about my new book and what inspired me to write it. First off,
let me climb on the soapbox, *climbs up, gets situated* I believe romance should
be for everyone and for a long time it wasn't. The reason I started writing M/M
erotic romance is because of my friend Nick. While I was in the Army I watched
him struggle with himself because he couldn't come out, be himself. I saw how
that affected him and it also affected me. Later on when I sat down to write a
short story I thought about him and how he wouldn't enjoy the romance that I
enjoy, or at least not as much, so I decided to write something he would enjoy.
It grew from there. I think romance should be for everyone and it never will be
with one type of romance being mainstream. Not to bring up issues but it's like
marriage. It's always been done this one way and now it's starting to change
and the definition of legal marriage is changing to encompass everyone.
*climbs off soapbox*
So, this book was inspired by my
friend Nick. You don't see him in the characters but he is there in the spirit
of the piece. He is a very beautiful person.
I have plans to one day write a F/F
but I'm not quite ready for it yet. I think as a straight woman it's just
harder for me to get into the heads of the women for a F/F piece but I'll get
there one day. I also love writing regular and kink stories for M/F couples
too. Like I said, everyone.
I just want to thank Katie for
having me on her blog and allowing me ramble at everyone briefly. I would also
like to thank everyone who supported me so I could get here and everyone who
has read or will read my books. You can think whatever you like about them but thank
you for taking the time to read it.

What a great inspiration for writing, Monica! I can't wait to check out your book!
This sounds like a great book. I love reading and love reading all different genres. The M/M genre is new for me and I love it. To me, I think it is very sexy to read about 2 men kissing and being together. I also think it is very sexy to see two guys kissing, yummy.
Definately adding you to my must try/buy list Monica. Thanks for the giveaway.

Great post. I love how you were thinking of your friend when you sat down to write this story. Coming out would have to be difficult or a person to do. I never could understand why guys liked the thought of two women together until I read my first M/M story. Although that still doesn't do anything for me, two hot guys together is very sexy :)
Great looking book. I will have to add it to my wishlist.

You should get up on your soapbox more often. I loved what you had to say.
