The Romance Review GLBT Blog Hop: An Ode to J.L. Langley and My Fair Captain *Book Giveaway*

Welcome to the Romance Reviews GLBT Madness Hop where for the next 4 days a multitude of authors and book bloggers promote everything GLBT fiction!

I decided to take part for pretty obvious reasons because not only do I love reading GLBT fiction, but the majority of what I write is GLBT romance. During the hop you'll be taken to many other blogs talking about GLBT fiction and also to The Romance Reviews that's hosting the hop, as well as giving away some awesome prizes.

I donated my latest release, Cinderella and the Lady, a Lesbian Historical Romance that's a twist on the fairy tale classic- Cinderella. You can click here to enter to win Cinderella and the Lady, including the other prizes there.

I started reading more GLBT fiction, mainly romance about 5 years ago. There was one author I was introduced to when I started blogging who became my gateway drug for everything GLBT, mainly M/M romance. That author is J.L. Lanlgey and the book was My Fair Captain, the first book in her Sci-Regency series. This is the book I tell anyone interested in reading GLBT romance to read. It's quite possibly the best M/M romance I have ever read.

I so adore this hairy man chesty cover!

Synopsis: Talk about a compromising situation! A storm of political intrigue, murderous mayhem and sexual hungers is brewing on planet Regelence. Swarthy Intergalactic Navy Captain Nathaniel Hawkins ran from a past he had no intention of ever reliving. But when his Admiral asks him to use his peerage, as an earl and the heir to a dukedom, to investigate a missing weapons stash, hes forced to do just that. As if being undercover on a Regency planet where the young men are supposed to remain pure until marriage isnt bad enough, Nate finds himself attracted to the kings unmarried son.

All Prince Aiden Townsend has ever wanted was to be an artist. He has no interest in a marriage of political fortune or becoming a societal paragon. Until he lands in the arms of the mysterious Earl of Deverell. One look at Nates handsome face has Aiden reconsidering his future. Not only does Nate make a virile subject for Aidens art, but the great war hero awakens feelings in Aiden he has never felt, feelings he cant ignore. After a momentous dance at a season ball, Aiden and Nate find themselves exchanging important information and working closely together. They have to fight their growing attraction long enough to find out who stole the weapons and keep themselves from a compromising situation and certain scandal.

How can you go wrong with a hot bearded hero with a special piercing and and the sweet, innocent man who steals his heart? And the mashup of Regency and Sci Fi shouldn't work, but here it does!

Later that year, the second book in the series, The Englor Affair came out and I enjoyed that one, but not as much as My Fair Captain. I was hooked on this series and anxiously awaited the third book. And I waited and waited and now 4 years later I'm over the moon to hear that My Regelence Rake, the third book in this series is finally being released on October 2nd from Samhain Publishing! *KB Snoopy Dance*

Synopsis: With his days occupied with duties as Captain of the Guard, and nights consumed with upholding his reputation as a rake, Lord Sebastian Hastings’s schedule is filled. There’s no extra time to be anyone’s bodyguard, but the royal family’s safety is a task he sees to personally.

Prince Colton Townsend has loved Sebastian for as long as he can remember, but he’s done pining for a man who has vowed never to remarry. So he consoles himself with the second love of his life—horses. Stable building and horse racing consume his every thought, at least until he’s stuck with Sebastian dogging his every step.

While looking over the prospects at an auction, Colton is trying to ignore his sexy, pesky bodyguard when he feels compelled to take on a bully to protect an abused horse. Sebastian is dragged into the fray, and their good deed sparks a string of nasty rumors.

In honor of My Regelence Rake, I'm giving away a digital copy of My Fair Captain, the first book that started it all. In order for your chance to win a copy, leave a comment here by Monday 10/1 telling me why you love reading GLBT fiction, want to start reading GLBT fiction or recommend any of your favorite GLBT authors or their books. I'm always look for more books to add to my ever growing monster TBR pile.

Love is love no matter where you find it. I read Uban/Roux Cut & Run and I was off. Ty & Zane are still my favorites but I’ve found a lot more out there to love.

Love and passion, whether it's between man and women or women and women or men and men, it's always great.

Love, passion and romance! I got truly hooked when I started reading Jordan Castillo Price, whose great writing drew me in. She had all the necessary ingredients, plus humor and profound weirdness.

I have not read this series, but I have it on my wish list. I've read Lee Rowan's navy adventure romances along with those by Alex Beecroft so this Sci-Fi Regency blend seemed fairly similar.

I'm not sure what to say about why I like it. To me GLBT fiction isn't really a separate sub-genre because its a good (or not so good if its poorly written) romance and story period.

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

I purchased several of JL Langley's books, but not of this series. My TBR pile is huge so I haven't gotten to those books yet. If you are looking for a SciFi or Fantasy reads, I would recommend Cari Z's Changing World (SciFi/fantasy romance) and Megan Derr books (Dancing with the Devil series).

There is something so incredibly hot to me about two men being together. I had read gay erotica over the years but just within the past year or two really gotten into MM and LGBT fiction. I have quite a few favorites, Mercy Celeste being my most recent addition. Others that I love reading as Xara X. Xanakas and J.P. Barnaby. I've read many others but these were the ones that have stuck out the most in my mind.
