Amazon has picked their best books of 2011 for half the year. These are their editor's picks. Not sure if this is by the number of sales.
I have listed the Romance and Young Adult only since those are the main genres I read.
Romance: (the ones I read are highlighted)
1. Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart by Sarah MacLean
2. Breaking Point (An I-Team Novel) by Pamela Clare
3. Unveiled (HQN) by Courtney Milan
4. The Restorer (The Graveyard Queen) by Amanda Stevens
5. Harvest Moon (Virgin River) by Robyn Carr
6. How to Knit a Heart Back Home: A Cypress Hollow Yarn (Cypress Hollow Yarns) by Rachael Herron
7. Face of Danger (Guardian Angelinos) by Roxanne St. Claire
8. Eternal Kiss: Mark of the Vampire by Laura Wright
9. Loose Ends: A Steele Street Novel by Tara Janzen
10. What I Did For a Duke: Pennyroyal Green Series by Julie Anne Long
The 3 out of the 10 listed that I read are very recommended reads. I'm glad to see they're on the list.
And then the Young Adult:
1. Delirium by Lauren Oliver
2. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs *this is a YA?*
3. Where She Went by Gayle Forman
4. I Am J by Cris Beam
5. Divergent (Divergent Trilogy) by Veronica Roth
6. What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen
7. Exposed by Kimberly Marcus
8. Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
9. Human.4 by Mike A. Lancaster
10. The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen
How sad that I haven't read one of these YA 's listed and 5 out of the ten I never even heard of.
Does anyone find it surprising they're are no self-published books on this list? You'd think there would be some because of Amazon's promotion of self-publishing on the Kindle. Wouldn't Amanda Hocking at least be in the YA top 10? Why isn't John Locke listed in the Mystery and Thriller list if he sold over 1 million books on the Kindle?
What do you think of these top ten picked by the editors of Amazon? Do you agree?

Just a run by post...
May I highly suggest you read Divergent? It's in my top 5 this year so far :D
I have yet to read any of those books. Some I have heard of, some are on my to read and a lot are news to me. Thanks for listing them. I will have to look into them
I haven't heard of a few of these titles either.
However, I highly recommend both Delirium and Divergent. Both are dystopias but so different.
I love Pamela Clare's Breaking Point...the best :)- Maria
I only read Breaking Point, Harvest Moon & Face Of Danger. Loved them all.
That's an excellent question about self published books. The people you mentioned should definitely be on the lists. Very curious what Amazon was thinking...
