Petals and Thorns begins with the wedding of Amarantha, who has agreed to marry the monstrous Beast. The Beast wants Amarantha desperately after he sees her portrait. He promises to restore her father's fortune if she marries him.. Her father tells her not to worry, because how can such a creature consummate the marriage? And if the marriage is not consummated in a week, the Beast has agreed to annul it and give Amaranth half of his fortune. Amarantha, being the dutiful and loving daughter that she is, does what her father wants. The Beast comes to her covered in black robes, where she never sees his face. He promises her he will never take her by force.
Amarantha goes off with her new husband to his magical castle where she's surrounded by beauty and wealth. There the Beast will do whatever he can to make Amarantha want him. He makes her wear very shocking and low cut dresses while they dine together and uses his gloved hands on her in such a way that makes her drip with need. Soon he moves onto spankings, and giving her pleasure with his mouth snout (sounds somewhat close to bestiality, but the way Jennifer writes it, you think otherwise) and his actual ungloved hands that are claws covered with fur. After every "session" together, the Beast asks her a specific question, which she always says no to. Amarantha soon enjoys every touch and taste the Beast gives her, but she refuses to give him the one thing he wants, and time is running out before he can claim her forever.
Petals and Thorns is seductive, hot and naughty. Even with the BDSM throughout, Jennifer makes sure never to venture into too kinky territory and really establishes an emotional connection between the Beast and Amarantha in the short number of pages, If you are in the mood for some hot fairy tale erotica, please do try Petals and Thorns. I can't wait to see what future books Jennifer has in store for us and can really see her becoming a name in the erotic romance genre. (Available from Loose-Id)
