This is a friendly hello from the Mile High City (I really want to say Mile High Club). Can I just say how happy I am to be in Denver where it's actually cool enough to wear a sweater? Such a relief from the steam bath I've been putting up with in New Jersey.
Waking up at 4am to catch a 7am flight is not my idea of fun, but I can't really complain since the flight was less than 3 hours and I got a great deal of reading and writing done. But as of now I'm experiencing major jet lag and lack of sleep. So if half of this post doesn't make sense, that's the reason why.
Since one of my roommates, Stacey Agdern @nystacey and I arrived at the Denver Int'l airport at the same time, we met each other and took a shuttle to the Crowne Plaza hotel where we would meet our other roommate, agent extraordinaire, Louise Fury. As for the hotel, it's on the outskirts of Denver basically in the middle of nowhere. So in order to get to where all the action is, you must take a taxi downtown. For the low price of $35, you can grab a taxi, which takes about 20 minutes from the hotel in the Denver boonies.
And now for the downtown Denver fun in pictures. Because we were starving, we walked along the mall walkway which is 17 quaint blocks long with very nice restaurants and stores called the 16th Street Mall. The place we stopped to eat had a very nice bathroom and recognizable faces guarding the bathrooms.
As we walked down the walkway, we noticed colorfully painted pianos. We just had to stop and take a few pictures to show off the art work:
And just because we needed something sweet, we just had to get some gelato. The peanut butter gelato was excellent!
It was quite the fun filled packed day right before RomCon. Tomorrow is sure to be even more fun when everyone arrives. I'm hoping after a good night's sleep, I will be bright eyed and hyper to enjoy RomCon and everyone who's attending.
Much more to report from Denver and the fun times in store!
