Adventures at RonCon Day 2: Books Signings and Team Cucumber

Day 2 of RomCon was too much fun for words. The amount of smiling faces and excitement makes a conference like this all worth while. Some of you maye have heard iffy things about RomCon, but I can honestly say that if you are THE READER, blogger, author, editor, etc, the overall atmosphere is so positive and happy. *insert some Ren and Stimpy: Happy Happy Joy Joy*

I forgot to mention in one of my first posts about RomCon is the hotel coffee. As you all well know, I'm a coffee addict and very picky about my coffee. I am happy to say that the Crowne Plaza hotel has incredible coffee made from Starbucks. They charge $2.50 for a medium cup that you can get free refills all day long! *holds cup close* None of that crap hotel coffee like I experience in the hotel back in Washington D.C. at RWA Nationals last year and on my cruise.

My Saturday began with the panel, Monsters and More Semi-Charades. Readers sat around a table as well as authors and a person picks a slip of paper with well known terminology from Paranormals, Urban Fantasy or Fantasy to win some prizes. It was so much fun! And from all the excitement my heart was beating like crazy that I didn't need another caffeine injection. One slip of paper had the word "Blade" on it. All I said was Ryan Reynolds and BAM, we got the answer.

Next up was the Book Fair. Take a look at all the authors I had the chance to talk to:

Brenda Novak/ Nicole Peeler (her first name was spelled wrong. Oops!)

Meljean Brook/ Melissa Schroeder

Melgan Hatfield. Lila Dipasque (new debut authors you must check out!)

Lori Wilde

After the book signing, I went to the panel, Murder, Darling, Murder! Authors pretended to be characters of a small town where readers had to guess who the murder was, the weapon and the reason for the murder, much like the game Clue. I didn't win :(

The murder suspects

If you have been following myself and a few others on Twitter, we have a group called Team Cucumber. This came to be mainly because of a cucumber mention in Carolyn Crane's Mind Games. From there it evolved into something bigger where Lisa Valdez's Patience was brought up including a cucumber mention from one of Carolyn Jewel's books. Those in the Team Cucumber are: Carolyn Crane, Carolyn Jewel, Jessica from Read React Review, @SomonaLass, @j_hussein and new honorary member Amanda McCabe.

We had a top secret meeting where we shared great wine (Thanks to Sonoma Lass) and had great conversation. I made sure to bring along some cucumber swag along with a crafty pin that Carolyn Crane made. Here are some of those top secret pictures of what went down during this very special meet up:
