I've also was able to read Lovestruck and will have a no holds barred review. And, just between you and me, while KB was sleeping, I found her credit card and downloaded Lovestruck on my computer. But don't tell her. Serves her right for not taking me with on her cruise. *pouts*
Mho Fho: *plops down on couch, pulls out pad and pen to act all reporter like* Welcome KT. Thank you for granting me this interview.
KT Grant: Whoa, this is strange being on the other end of an interview for a change.
Mho Fho: Why is that?
KT Grant: Um Mho, everyone knows who I really am. It's not a surprise. And I don't understand why when we did the photo shoot for this interview, you didn't want any shots of my face and only my hands.
Mho Fho: It will ruin the big surprise I have planned for the end, when we reveal the true KT Grant!
KT Grant: *Smack forehead*
Mho Fho: *flips through notes* Anyway, let's begin with the basics. Where did you come up with the name, KT Grant? Why not to stick to the name you were born with or even your on-line alias everyone knows so well? I really don’t get why the initials, KT.
KT Grant: This is a very timely question because here has been some discussion about pseudonyms lately and why use them. First, my "real" last name is a tongue twister. No one can ever pronounce it correctly. Also, I wanted something that would be easy to say. And because I hope to write more mainstream titles, mainly young adult in the future, I thought it best to have two separate pseudonyms. One for my spicier, "out of the box" reads as I call them, and another for my more traditional stories. Coming up with an author name is hard, let me tell you! Every name I thought of was already taken, and as it was, the name KT Grant is a name of an interesting company. For some laughs, look it up. And KT is pretty much a given.
Mho Fho: KT? I'm missing something here. Why is it pretty much a given?
KT Grant: *Smacks forehead*
Mho Fho: Alrighty then, moving on… your debut novel, Lovestruck, is labeled as a May/December Contemporary Lesbian Romance. That's quiet a lot of labels for one book! In your own words, and better make it sound interesting, what is Lovestruck about?
KT Grant: I'm glad you've asked. Lovestruck takes place in present day New York City. Barbara Jennings is a thirty-five hotel mogul who lives and breathes her work. She longs for a relationship with another woman, but finds it hard to date, because she is so dedicated to her job. She is also in a bit of a conundrum because she may have to close her hotel on Fifth Avenue or fire some of the employees there. She ends up meeting one her of her employees, Jenny Caffey, a twenty-five year old college student and the sparks fly between them. A total opposites attract type romance.
What I hoped to accomplish with Lovestruck, is a traditional romance, with two people of the same gender who fall for one another. They are not who they are based on their sexuality, but just everyday people looking for the right person to be with.
Mho Fho: Oh miss smarty pants author used a big word with "conundrum"! I'm impressed. But let's get to the heart of the matter- sex. Is this a hot and steamy love story? I keep hearing about a specific scene with Barbara and Jenny using an electronic device together, as well as some hot women on women love in the bathroom. Is any of this true?
KT Grant: How did I know you would ask about the Jack Rabbit vibrator scene? Yes, there is one and yes, there is a bathroom scene and few others that I think readers will enjoy. But didn't you read it already? You should know this.
Mho Fho: *looks sheepish* I kind of just read the sex scenes. I will make sure to go back and read the other parts before I post my review.
KT Grant: Mho!!
Mho Fho: Hey, you sound a lot like KB. Do you know that?
KT Grant: *silence and evil stare*
Mho Fho: Well then, it looks like we are running out of time and I still have to post my review of Lovestruck. I've notice on your author website, your avatar picture there is of a pirate wench. Why is that? And can you give the public any deets on what future projects you are working on?
KT Grant: Not only do I also have out a short story in the Once Upon a Threesome anthology, available now from Ravenous Romance, but I'm working on a Pirate Lesbian Romance for Ravenous Romance called The Princess's Bride that should be out by the fall. I'm also in the middle of writing the next book in my Lovestruck series called Burning For You, about Barbara's brother Christian, a college professor, and his relationship with a handyman at the hotel. I hope to have at least 5 books written in my Lovestruck series, if at all possible, ranging from all different types of romantic relationships from MM, FF, to even straight ones.
Mho Fho: It looks like you are a very busy woman! And I'm so happy to be along for the ride. *jots down to take a look at KT's secret writing projects when she's sleeping*. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to sit down and talk with me. And now the moment you've been waiting for! Picture proof of who KT Grant really is!
KT Grant: Mho, everyone knows—
Mho Fho: 1… 2… 3.. TAH DAH!
Wow KT, I never knew you could shift into a black cat also?
KT Grant: *smack forehead* *it'smycatkikoyoufuzzydork*
Mho Fho's review of Lovestruck
As in the blurb and what KT explained in our interview, Lovestruck is about two very different types of women who fall for one another. Their initial introduction is much like a cause and effect. From that moment they meet, whether it be fate or the stars aligning in such a way, Barbara and Jenny's lives will change from that day forward. Doesn't that always seem to happen in a romance when our couple meets and think naughty, sexed up thought about one another?
Barbara Jennings is high-powered business woman who thinks she doesn't have time for dating, romance, or sex. Barbara wants to be control of everything, even her own pleasure. But she is in for a shock when she meets Jenny, a woman who lives pay check to pay check and a c college student who is a decade younger than Barbara. Jenny is the opposite of what Barbara should want, but for some reason is attracted to Jenny in ways she has never been before with another woman. She longs to conquer and plunder Jenny. And although Barbara thinks there can never be anything permanent between them, she decides to go for it and does her best to seduce Jenny.
What we have here are two women who are living in the moment, who want to have fun and enjoy each other's company. But what Jenny doesn’t know is that Barbara is hiding secrets that could destroy Jenny's livelihood, including her friends who work at the hotel along with her, such as her roommate Mike, an aspiring author, and her best friend from high school, Tonya, who is going through a bad divorce.
I felt the love scenes between Barbara and Jenny were smoking hot. They use an electronic vibrator on each other at one point and have some bathtub loving, among some other love scenes. Jenny may come across as a bit too naive and shy, and Barbara a bit too heavy handed when it comes to her young lover, but it reminded me a bit like those Harlequin Presents categories where the Greek Tycoon Billionaire something or other claims the virgin secretary mistress whatnot. But make no mistake, Jenny doesn't just lay there and take it. She also makes certain that Barbara understands her needs and refuses to be walked all over.
As with a debut, KT still needs some work. The beginning may be slow for some, but at one point things move in such a way where I really needed to know if Barbara and Jenny would be able to work out their problems and have their HEA. The main focus of Lovestruck is always on Barbara and Jenny, but the secondary cast helps move things along and lends support.
Lovestruck was enjoyable and I found myself snickering a few times, especially from Mike, who is the voice of reason for Jenny. I really do look forward to seeing what future stories KT has in her perverted little mind. (Holla, Lesbian Pirate Romance!)

Thank you for the very objective review, Mho. And The Princess' Bride made me lawl-great title!
Oh, hilarious. You two are CRAZY!!!
Great review Mho & KT! Mho - you should really interview more often :)
And I too love the title The Princess' Bride!
A very balanced review Mho Fho - this must be especially difficult because KB controls everything about your life and if she was displeased... well, I'm just gonna say well done!
Heidenkind: With all my reviews, I try to be objective. A very important trait for a hot shot sheep reporter like myself.
Carolyn: You know it baby!
Orannia: Glad you like it :)
Kaetrin: I let KB think she controls my own like. I actually control her. I have a remote and everything.
