30 book book bloggers have come together for the month of May and beginning of June to pen a fan letter to one of their favorite authors, as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
It all started because where Kris from Kris 'n' Good Books discussed about how demanding readers are when it comes to books and what they expect from authors in regards to series, characters and certain tropes (especially in romance) that just won't die.
But, instead of gripping, why not praise an author for all the hard work that they do?
Kassa from 3 AM came up with an idea to do an author fan letter blog crawl. "Instead of emailing your favorite author with your fan letter, why not post it on your blog for everyone to see? It’s a well earned pat on the back to the author and perhaps readers will pick an author, book, or genre they might not have otherwise."
With a few more emails back and forth, 30 bloggers decided to come together where they will pen a letter on their blog explaining their devotion and respect to a specific author and why they keep reading their work. The bloggers partaking have a wide range of genres and authors they adore.
"Each blog writes their letter as they would to their author of choice. It can be about a favorite book, series, or just the author’s work in general that has meaning to the reader. They then tag the next blogger in line. The next blogger posts their fan letter the next day and so on."

Anyone else interested in playing along, please go ahead and write your own fan letter to your favorite author on your blog. You never know, they might just read it.
If you had to pick one author, alive or dead, to write a fan letter to, who would you choose and why?

I'm muy excited about this!!!! (can't you tell from my overuse of exclamation points?)
I've written gushy fangirl letters to Nora Roberts (about 10 years ago), Amelia Atwater-Rhodes (about 5-7 years ago), Emma Petersen, Zoe Winters, and Kitty Thomas. I'll definitely write more in the future, and my next one will likely be to Megan Hart.
You'll just have to wait until the 11th to find out. ;)
This is a fabulous idea! Will have to see if I can find someone to write too! There are two many to choose from.
I'm very excited and will definitely check yours out since it falls on my birthday. My fan letter would be to Harper Lee since she wrote my favorite book To Kill a Mockingbird. It's near and dear to my heart and I've re-read it several times.
Fabulous idea! I can't to visit all the sites and read the letters. I think I'll compose my own on my blog. What a great way to celebrate authors.
Thanks for the promo! I've been overwhelmed and thankful for the great response from readers and bloggers in a wide range of genres that are all excited about the idea and want to participate. I hope everyone reads the letters to authors and visit the bloggers.
I personally can't wait to read what authors or books bloggers choose to highlight. Each blogger has their own voice and sense of style/humor so I'm really excited.
I chose JD Robb's series and for an m/m author, Jordan Castillo Price.
It was hard though! I kept peering at my Herbert collection, then Herman Hesse's work which I love, so many to choose from.
