The past few weeks in my family has been crazy. I have a father and sister who live and breathe college basketball, so much so that they refuse to leave their houses every time there is a March Madness basketball game on. I really thought my father was going to go into convulsions when Syracuse University lost to Butler in the West Regional Finals, 63-59.
I don't have March Madness basketball fever, but I do have another one. It's called DA BWAHA.
For those who don't know what DA BWAHA is, it is book tournament run by Jane from Dear Author and Sarah from Smart Bitches, Trashy Books where "we put up a field of 64 books and you vote until there is one book, one champion. The contest is twofold. First, you must fill out a bracket identifying which book will win each round. Then you vote."
Out of 64 books published last year, many from the romance sub-genres chosen by the readers, are voted on by the public at large until there can only be one.
And here is where I come in with my shameless begging, pleading and pimping.
The one book I want to win the whole kit and kaboodle is one of my most favorite books from last year called Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James. This wonderfully, hilarious and sweet contemporary, written by a true sweetheart of a woman, seems to be the true underdog of the tournament, taking down such heavy hitters like Erin McCarthy and Lisa Kleypas. Now Julie is up against another wonderful author, Larissa Ione in the final 8 elite.
The fact of the matter is, I have no chance in hell of winning now. I'm not even in the top 100. This plea is not for me to win, but for Julie James, who with Practice Makes Perfect, has written a near perfect romance, in my opinion.
So my fellow fans and visitors of my blog, please go vote for Practice Makes Perfect and let's give this little book that couldn't, the chance that it could.
Mho Fho will also be one happy sheep if you do. We want to make Mho happy, right?
and don't forget my adorable kitty, Kiko...

And Catching Fire!!!!! I think if Catching Fire loses, I'm quite screwed.. and I'm actually doing well this year (holy cow). If people don't care, vote for Catching Fire.
I also say vote for Practice Makes Perfect although either way for that bracket I've already lost it! :)
I voted for Echo, but I think Catching Fire should win because Echo sucked big time.
Not sexy time with Claire and Jamie at all! Well, that one time in the barn doesn't count...
Mho, that little traitor. Next book, no acknowledgment. Nope, he gets EATEN!
Hmph.
*flounces away dramatically*
But demon princess, I can't help it! Look what KB does to me!! She makes me look like a girl wearing pink bows and her cat chews on my mammoths.
Come back!!! *Wiggles away*
-King Mho Fho
Catching Fire is going to win!
Aw, look at how cute Kiko is! *scritch scritch scritch*
Oh, Mho, I understand. You're being held captive! I didn't think about that. I won't serve you up all barbecued after all. But my carnivore demons are bummed...
I really wanted Smooth Talking Stranger to win -- sigh... my DABWAHA brackets for both the 1st and 2nd tourney are dead b/c it got booted by PMP.
I voted for her ... have never even heard of Ione or Collins actually (my ignorance I'm sure: I tend to stick to just a few genres!) and I enjoyed altho didn't love PMP. But I voted 4 her!! OK Katiebabs? I'm looking forward to James' 4th :)
I'm sorry KB, I missed the voting :( I would have voted that way though (if that in anyway helps).
And I've even bombed in the Second Chance Tourney :9
It's March Madness Baby!
KSS: U CONN SUCKS ASS!
