KB's Pimpin Cookie Book Covers *Future Releases*

So many wonderful future releases to take note of...

But first a big announcement from Scholastic. The title and cover for Suzanne Collin's third and final book in her Hunger Games series has been posted. This covers screams "freedom" to me. Perhaps a good indication of what's in store? Can we wait until August 24th to find out what happens? I'm a Team Peeta girl myself. How about you? The plot is under lock and key.

"In the series, mockingjays are offspring of mockingbirds and jabberjays, a government-bred mutant designed to spy on rebels. Mockingjays become symbols of resistance."

Mandi at Smexy Books brought this book to my attention. Angelology by DanielleTrussoni coming Viking Press on March 9th. There is an article in the New York Observer from last year that describes this book as being the next Da Vinci Code. The movie rights have also been sold. Sounds very interesting..

Synopsis: Sister Evangeline was just a girl when her father entrusted her to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in upstate New York. Now, at twenty-three, her discovery of a 1943 letter from the famous philanthropist Abigail Rockefeller to the late mother superior of Saint Rose Convent plunges Evangeline into a secret history that stretches back a thousand years: an ancient conflict between the Society of Angelologists and the monstrously beautiful descendants of angels and humans, the Nephilim.

For the secrets these letters guard are desperately coveted by the once-powerful Nephilim, who aim to perpetuate war, subvert the good in humanity, and dominate mankind. Generations of angelologists have devoted their lives to stopping them, and their shared mission, which Evangeline has long been destined to join, reaches from her bucolic abbey on the Hudson to the apex of insular wealth in New York, to the Montparnasse cemetery in Paris and the mountains of Bulgaria.

Rich in history, full of mesmerizing characters, and wondrously conceived, Angelology blends biblical lore, the myth of Orpheus and the Miltonic visions of Paradise Lost into a riveting tale of ordinary people engaged in a battle that will determine the fate of the world.

Anna Campbell just posted her new book, coming fron Avon in on May 25th. My Reckless Summer. Lots of skin showing in this one.

Synopsis: A well-practiced rake, weary of easy conquests and empty pleasures, Tarquin Vale, Earl of Ashcroft, knows women—and his every instinct warns him to beware of this one. Diana Carrick’s brazen overtures have thrown the haunted, sinfully handsome lord completely off his guard. Why, the exquisite temptress stated outright that she wishes to be his lover! But it is neither Diana’s boldness nor her beauty that intrigues him so—it is the innocence he senses behind her worldly mask.

Intent upon the seduction that will finally free her, Diana has set her sights on the notorious Ashcroft—never dreaming that there is much more to the enigmatic rogue than sin and deviltry. His kiss is bewitching, his caress intoxicating—and even the dangerous secret Diana must protect cannot shield her from Ashcroft’s dark allure.

Shadow Bound by Erin Kellison coming from Dorchester in July. This is one of the latest books under their Publisher Promises Fulfilling Reader Experience.

Synopsis: Adam Thorne founded the Institute to study and destroy his monster of a brother, but the key to its success is held in the pale, slender hand of a woman on the run. There is something hauntingly different about Talia O’Brien, her unknowing sensuality, her uncanny way of slipping into Shadow. This is the place between life and what comes after - a dark forest of fantasy, filled with beauty, peril, mystery. And Talia is about to open the door.

Fans of Elizabeth Hoyt take note! Wicked Intentions coming from Grand Central on August 1st. Isn't the stepback hot?

Synopsis: Infamous for his wild, sensual needs, Lazarus Huntington, Lord Caire, is searching for a savage killer in St. Giles, London's most notorious slum. Widowed Temperance Dews knows St. Giles like the back of her hand-she's spent a lifetime caring for its inhabitants at the foundling home her family established. Now that home is at risk . . .

Caire makes a simple offer-in return for Temperance's help navigating the perilous alleys of St. Giles, he will introduce her to London's high society so that she can find a benefactor for the home. But Temperance may not be the innocent she seems, and what begins as cold calculation soon falls prey to a passion that neither can control-one that may well destroy them both.

Victoria Dahl has a new historical romance with an opening deflowering scene! A Little Bit Wild coming on August 3rd from Zebra.

A debut author alert with a romance with a fairy tale twist? Awakened by a Kiss by Lila DiPasqua coming from Berkley on August 3rd. thanks to Loving Me Some Romance for this heads up.

Synopsis: Sleeping Beau: Five years ago, the notorious rake, Adrien d’Aspe, Marquis de Beaulain, was awakened by a sensuous kiss—and experienced a night of raw ecstasy that was branded into his memory. Years later, he spots his mysterious seductress—and this time, he has no intention of letting her go…

Little Red Writing: Nicolas de Savignac, Comte de Lambelle, has been assigned by the King to uncover the secret identity of the author writing scandalous stories about powerful courtiers. He never expected his investigation would lead to his grandmother's house, or to a ravishing woman who would stir his deepest hunger…

Bewitching in Boots: Elisabeth de Roussel, daughter of the King, is accustomed to getting what she wants—and she wants Tristan de Tiersonnier, Comte de Saint-Marcel, an ex-commander of the King’s private Guard. A recent injury has forced Tristan to leave his distinguished position, but Elisabeth is determined to make him see he's every bit the man he once was—and more than man enough for her..

The next book in Marjorie M. Liu's Hunter Kiss series is up. Coming in August from Ace Book, A Wild Light.

Synopsis: For too long Maxine Kiss has felt an inexplicable darkness inside her—a force she channels into hunting the demons bent on destroying the human race. But when she finds herself covered in blood and crouched beside her grandfather’s dead body with no memory of what happened or the man she loves, Maxine begins to fear that the darkness has finally consumed her.

With blood on her hands and her sanity in question, Maxine must face the truth about who she really is and embrace the love of the only man who can help her—before she loses what she cares about most: her family.

I love Robin McKinley -- and that cover is spectacular -- but I still have hopes she'll do a sequel to Sunshine.

Oh, I love that Mockingjay cover!

I'm so lovin' the Hoyt cover and stepback. And it sounds really gothic too.

And I'm such a sucker for these fairy tale collections. And Lila DiPasqua has added a great historical twist.

And DAY-um, that Marjorie M. Liu cover is GORGEOUS! I've seen this one around blogland and it still hasn't failed to capture my attention.

The yellow Anna Campbell book is beautiful too. The male cover model is getting pretty popular. Barbara of Happily Forever After thinks he's going to be the next Nathan.

Thanks for the nod, KB, and for the cover candy.

Hugs, VFG

I'm absolutely giddy with anticipation for Mockingjay! This series has been great thus far and I'll be so sad when I turn that last page. And no, you're not alone. I'm a Team Peeta fangirl myself!

Yet more great pimpage - thank you! I like the sound of Angelology. And the cover of Pegasus is gorgeous. I went hunting for it on my local library's online catalogue and found a Robin McKinley book called Chalice instead. It has bees - I love bees! Has anyone read it (Chalice?)

Wonderful covers! They're all so pretty! I love My Reckless Summer's vibrant shade of yellow. And yes, Wicked Intentions has a very smexy cover. :D

Magdalen: Is it sad to admit I have never read a McKinley book? Pegasus looks very interesting though, so I may have to change that.

JMC: Scholastic has done a great job on all of Collins' covers. :)

VampFanGirl: I was disappointed in Holt's last book, so here's hoping it is a good as her cover and stepback. Kudos to Liu also. I love her Hunter series. Very dark and gritty.

Smokinghot: You and me both!

Kris: Word. ;)

Joder: Hurrah for Team Peeta!

Orannia: I hate bees. I think our love affair with one another maybe over now. ;)

Anna: I am addicted to these luscious historical romance covers. Love them all!

What a great collection of covers! I'm so happy Hoyt's four soldier series is over--was not a fan of those books. And Angelology sounds like a must-buy.

Sorry I'm arriving late here, but I wanted to say thanks! I'm thrilled to be on your list. You've put me in amazing company. :)
